About Norris

Norris has significant experience in dealing with international commercial disputes across a variety of disciplines as a facilitative, evaluative, and transformative mediator.

He is widely recognized in the field of mediation, which includes being nominated as 1 out of 39 Global Elite Thought Leaders – Commercial Mediation 2023 (Who’s Who Legal) and annually since its inaugural year in 2017 (1 of 19 Thought Leaders) – the first mediator of Chinese descent to be on the list. He is also the first Asian mediator to be accredited by the International Mediation Institute and the first Hong Kong lawyer honoured as a distinguished international neutral of the CPR Institute (New York).

He is an accredited mediator (general and family) of the Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association Limited (HKMAAL), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), and the Law Society of Hong Kong. He is also on the panel of assessors for HKMAAL. He is the Chairman of the communications and publicity committee of HKMAAL and past Chairman of the Hong Kong Mediation Council (2003-2006).

He has conducted more than 40 accredited mediation courses in Hong Kong and Macau (training senior government officials, lawyers, accountants, doctors, professions, and business executives). He frequently lectures at local universities, conducting and teaching mediation courses for Peking University School of Transnational Law (Visiting Faculty), Chinese University of Hong Kong (Adjunct Associate Professor), and the City University of Hong Kong. 

Norris is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
